Definition : 

A letter of application, also known as a cover letter, is a document sent with your resume to provide additional information about your skills and experience to an employer. The letter of application is intended to provide detailed information on why you are a qualified candidate for the job.

Function

Apart from functioning as a communication tool between applicants and job recipients, job application letters also function as an initial assessment tool whether they are suitable to be placed in the position that has been chosen or included in the application letter or not.  


Generic Structures : 

  • Heading, which includes your name and contact information. 
  • The address
  • A gretting, addressed to a specific person, if possible. 
  • The introduction, which should include why the applicant is writing.
  • The body, which discusses your relevant qualifications.
  • The close, which thanks the reader and provides contact information and followup details. 
  • The signature, to end the letter.

How To Write A Job Application Letter

• Must be written using polite and good language to attract the attention and interest of HRD or the person in authority to recommend you. 

•Explain why you qualify for the position and are eligible to be selected for an interview.

•Highlight skills, experience, and abilities according to the required criteria.

Application Letter Arrangement

1. Applicant's name.
2. Applicant's address.
3. Applicant's email address.
4. Applicant's phone number.
5. Date.
6. Name of hiring manager or supervisor.
7. Title of hiring manager or supervisor.
8. Company name.
9.  Company address.
10. Salutation.
11. Outline where the applicant saw the job posting and express applicant's interest in working in this role.
12. Diacuss some of the applicant's qualifications that would make you good fit for the job.
13. Describe the applicant's recent experience in a way that emphasizes your personality and skills and your purpose for joining this company.
14. Express applicant appreciation to be hiring manager for reviewing applicant's letter. 
15. Closing.
16. Applicant's signature.

What Is The Job Vacancy?
Job vacancies are the availability of vacant positions so that they can be occupied by someone to work. Job vacancies are usually found in print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) and electronic media (internet).

Purpose
The purpose of job vacancies is 
1. To find employees that the company needs.
2. So that the company in doing anything can be faster because there are many employees.  
3. People who are unemployed are helped because of job vacancies.

What Is The Curriculum Vitae?
CV or curriculum vitae containing the data and information needed to apply for a job.  In the curriculum vitae or CV there is information such as education, skills, biodata, and other work history.

Conclusion

In writing a cover letter, you must use polite language, easy to understand, and don't forget to pay attention to the structure and rules of language.  In looking for job vacancies, you can look for them in print media, such as newspapers or magazines and electronic media, such as the internet.  To apply for a job, you must prepare a cover letter, curriculum vitae, etc
