Descriptive Text (Part 1)
What Is the Descriptive Text?
Descriptive text is a text that describes something in clear and detailed words.
What Is the Purpose of Descriptive Text?
The purpose of descriptive text is to describe the object by detailing subjectively or describing the condition of the object from the author's point of view.
General Features of Descriptive Text
1. Each paragraph has content in the form of a description or description.
2. The explanation used to describe a thing is very detailed and detailed.
3. Involving sensory impressions that can make the reader feel what is being discussed in the text.
4. Further explaining the physical or psychological characteristics of the object so that it focuses on one thing being explained.⁹
Monas
The National Monument or often abbreviated as Monas is a tower with a height of 132 meters in Jakarta which stands in the middle of Medan Merdeka. The monument symbolizes the struggle for Indonesian independence.
President Sukarno directed the construction of the Monas which began in 1961. The National Monument was opened to the public 14 years later on 12 July 1975 due to construction problems. This monument consists of two parts. The first part is the base platform called the goblet, at a height of 17 meters and above it is an obelisk with a height of 117.7 meters made of Italian marble. The trophy is a Yoni, which resembles a rice mortar mortar representing the female organ while the monument resembles a Lingga, a rice pestle symbolizing a male person.
At the top of the monument is a golden flame called the Flame of Independence. This golden flame has a height of 14 meters and is made of 14.5 tons of bronze overlaid with 50kg of gold. You can see the platform at a height of 115 meters with an elevator on the south side of the structure. Binoculars are provided to enjoy the view of Jakarta, the ticket to Monas to see the platform is Rp. 7,500.
Inside the trophy is the Independence Room which contains various symbols of Indonesian independence such as the original text of the Proclamation of Independence, a map of the islands covered in gold and an Indonesian coat of arms.
While the basis of Monas is the Indonesian National History Museum, which contains 51 diorama's (three-dimensional models) that tell the history of Indonesia from prehistory to the last.

Descriptive Text (Part 2)
Characteristics of Using Description Text Language
1. Bringing up personal pronouns in the descriptive text.
2. Using special words used to describe an object (more detailed colors, such as red, yellow, green).
3. Using figurative language/metaphors
4. There are adverbs such as descriptions of ways, places, and information related to objects to make them easier to understand and clearer. Like in the garden, in the shop, at school, and more
5. Using language that is used in everyday life.
6. Using more detailed sentences in describing the object.
7. Using figure of speech to be able to describe concretely what is actually.
Description Text Structure
1. Title
The title is used to find out the contents of the description text.
2. Identification
An introductory sentence that will deliver the topic to be discussed in the descriptive text.
3. Clarification
Classification or order of topics being discussed.
4. Description
Contains a detailed explanation of the topic being discussed. This is to give the reader an emotional effect so that what is described in the text can be seen, heard, or felt by the reader himself.
Steps to Write Description Text
1. Determine the title to be discussed so that the author gets an idea of what is written in the descriptive text.
2. Gather various information about the things to be discussed. Authors can search for literature in the form of encyclopedia books or the official website of what is discussed.
3. Create an outline or outline of the descriptive text that will be included in the writing. The outline also aims to be a guide in writing.
4. Developing an outline into a good paragraph, the author can use the materials provided to develop an outline.
Dufan
Dufan or Dunia Fantasi is the biggest entertainment place in Jakarta which is interesting. Dunia Fantasi, commonly abbreviated as Dufan, is located in the Ancol Taman Impian area, North Jakarta, becoming a recreational destination for residents of Jakarta and outside Jakarta, both for families and young people. Although this place is already familiar to Jakarta residents, there are many things that make visitors not bored to visit it again. This is not surprising, because this tourist spot with the proboscis primate logo has the advantage of attracting visitors.
There are many interesting games with high technology and guaranteed safety that you can try. You can try to get your adrenaline pumping by trying the games in Dufan.
For example Tornado, where when you are at a certain height, your body will be rotated for many times at high speed. Or Kora-Kora, by resembling a large boat, you will be rocked to a nearly 90 degree position so that your body is almost perpendicular to the ground. Lightning will also stimulate your adrenaline, by riding a 6 carriage train, this train will run at a very high speed, then bend quickly and the top will rotate with a position facing the ground. Power Surge or Kicir-Kicir is a must try, a game that will lift your chair, twist and turn your body.

The Question About Descriptive Text
Kuda Renggong is a traditional performing art that is very popular in Sumedang Regency. This attraction is in the form of a horse show. The horse has been trained. Horses can dance and walk to the beat of traditional Sundanese music, namely the pencak drums.
The Kuda Renggong show is called a pencak horse because a horse is trained to perform movements such as fighting against its trainer in the style of pencak silat. The Horse Renggong show can be seen at the circumcision ceremony. Usually the child is paraded around the city on the back of a renggong horse. The procession is followed by family members or close relatives who dance in front of it. Then, they went around from one village to another.
